Rockford 25, Lansing Sexton 22

Rockford overcame 4 turnovers to win another close one! The Rams turned the ball over 3 times in the first quarter, but were still able to capture the lead at halftime thanks to a 47 yard field goal just before halftime by Eric Ledbetter. That field goal turned out to be the difference in the game.

Baron Grutter had a big night for the Rams scoring 2 touchdowns from 40 yards out (one 40 yd rec; one 40 yd rush). The Rams third touchdown came on a fumble recovery after Rockford rushed into the endzone. With about 2 minutes to go in the game, Rockford lost a fumble deep in Sexton territory while holding a 3 point lead. Lansing made it just into Ram territory when the defense ended the Sexton surge on downs. The Ram secondary came up with a lot of big plays and the D-line kept good pressure on the Sexton quarterback to help secure the win.
